As an All Kids Can Educational Consultant, I believe educators desire to build students’ into life-long learners and productive citizens. 

Curriculum programs are used to guide planning for what needs to be taught. Unfortunately, even with the greatest intentions, students struggle, gaps do not close, and teachers are frustrated and tired. Is there a need to put your curriculum on the shelf and find a new program? If curriculum has been rigorously scrutinized at the district and school level, the answer may be “no”.

However, even thoroughly vetted curriculum often has something missing - Explicit Instruction. This is what makes curriculum effective and efficient. When using these practices, 100% of students engage in learning through scaffolded instruction, rigorous questioning techniques, learner expectations and outcomes supported by formative assessment. 

Explicit Instruction is a structured way of teaching that has been validated many times by research. It is the approach that empowers teachers to meet the diverse needs of students. 

My work focuses on this structured way of teaching in which student outcomes improve by helping teachers learn the methods and techniques for Explicit Instruction. I have been trained and guided by Dr. Anita Archer, international educational consultant on explicit instruction, design and delivery of instruction, behavior management, and literacy instruction. I have worked with and followed Dr. Archer for many years.
